Characters

This is a list of some of the characters that I have created to include in Yngvild & Noren.

• Yngvild Helgasdotir - the (unreliable) narrator of the story
• noren - the title character
• Old Bjorn - the mentor & leader of the fishing village of Straven
• lady_helga - Yngvild's mother & Second Sea Lord.

I haven't named every one of the people on Straven, but some of the more notable ones are:

• Arne the Slow - the steersman on the boat, de facto second in command to Old Bjorn
• Alwilda - Arne's partner
• olaf - one of the boat crew
• Helga the Red - Old Bjorn's partner
• Leif - another member of the boat crew
• Birgitta - member of the boat crew
• Gunnar - also on the boat crew
• Erik the Dark - member of the boat crew
• Freya

• captain_olaf - Captain of the King's Ship Seagull
• lt_snorri - Officer on the Seagull and interested in Yngvild Helgasdotir

• Bo Thu Myat - Captain of the Mangandalese ship Chantara
• Maung_Yaza_Lin - translator for the Chantara
• arald - A mysterious man from the South that came to Straven to ask questions aboard the Chantara.

Kronstadt is the de facto capital of Skyss.

• Linhildr - servant of lady_helga who looks after Yngvild Helgasdotir while she is in Kronstadt.
• Radulfr - not met, but he's a Hero involved in the government of Skyss.

• Alfarinn - Noren's elusive mother
• alfinna - a sister of Noren, who acts as Alfarinn's mouthpiece
• oddmundr - Yngvild's father, the previous wielder of Jafnadr the Sword
• rojden - Noren's thoroughly disreputable father
• Major Duerte - Cottalem Horse Guards officer, assigned to escort Yngvild.
