Welcome to James Kemp's Wiki
This is a collaborative web platform that allows people to edit1) the web pages to provide additional content for some of the stories I have written and the roleplaying games that I am involved in, whether as a player or GM.
There are several namespaces operating slightly different wiki subjects. These are, in no particular order:
- Skyss - Story Background - a fantasy novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2016.
- Perfects - background for the near future story and some police roleplaying that I ran in that universe
- Theocracy of Daprav - A D&D campaign that I ran with Glasgow University Games Society around 2002-3.
- Jim Wallman's Universe - a roleplaying by e-mail campaign that I play in, this is an unofficial wiki and none of it is canon unless Jim says it is.
- Interstellar Freelance Unlimited - subset of the Universe pages covering the activities of a mercenary company that we are currently roleplaying every Full Moon.
- Earth Imperium pages. These cover the activities of the Government of the Solar republic (aka Earth Empire) in Jim's Humanity Will Prevail campaign, including the Earth Imperium News Items.
- Free Worlds Alliance - covering the activities of another emerging polity in the Humanity Will Prevail campaign. Mostly contributed by Eric Moroney.
- Universe Background - page collecting the various bits of background info that have come up in various e-mail discussions for the campaigns set in Jim Wallman's Universe.
- Master map of the Universe (6Mb PDF, as at 3212).
- Delta Green - some roleplaying campaigns about horror and conspiracy. The main one was set in Berlin in 1953.
- Free games rules - a collection of free rules for wargames and other sorts of face to face games that I have designed or run.
- Wargames rules - I'm not just a player of games, I also do rules for them from time to time as well as one-off games. A primary outlet for this is through Chestnut Lodge Wargames Group.
- Other free rules - at the moment just those for the 1689 (Orange or Lemon? and Bonnie Dundee, respectively about the debates in the Scots Parliament and then the military campaign of Viscount Dundee during 1689) and The Other Side of the COIN (about what makes people become insurgents). All games that I have have produced for Chestnut Lodge Wargames Group.
- Background for a near future universe where I have written some fiction and also run some roleplaying games in.

T74 Q0 - GFA President Brokers IEN Agreement to Withdrawal From Amoss

President Alphie Potato and the First Minister Danso Ashanti have had fruitful discussions on a range of issues during the GFA President's visit to Earth and his tour of the Solar System. Principally amongst these discussions was the crisis in Q6.
Alphie's assurances
Over two days of private discussions President Potato used all his charms on the First Minister and persuaded him that the GFA Navy could successfully hold the military blockade at Amoss where the Venerians had failed. The First Minister agreed that given the personal assurances of President Potato he would give the orders for the IEN in Q6 to vacate the Amoss M25.
On being asked at the press conference on Old Mars about the rumours that there had been leaks by the Admiralty that the GFA had threatened to fire on IEN vessels the First Minister said “I don't believe a word of it, some people would like to see Alphie and me fall out, they're just jealous of the special relationship between the people of Earth and the GFA”.
NOTES FOR EDITORS 1. The First Minister had a tonne of chocolate mousse and a jacuzzi specially installed on his family estate in West Africa for the GFA President's visit.
2. While visiting the First Minister the GFA President was presented with a golden stool as commemoration of his visit. Historically chiefs from this part of Africa used to sit on special stools and the paramount chief of the nation had a special golden stool.

Second Space Lord
The Second Space Lord (2SL) controls the majority of the non-operational elements of the IEN as well as all the home defence fleets, excluding pacifiers attached to orbitals.
There are two Deputies, one an Admiral of the White2) and the other a Vice-Admiral. Each of the Deputies themself control a large chunk of the IEN.
The 2SL has a Captain as his Naval Secretary who ensures that smooth running of his office and that all matters are effectively attended to at the appropriate time. In addition there is a Commander and Lt Commander who act as aide-de-camp to the 2SL as well as a number of other ranks.
The 2SL command splits down into a number of main Directorates:
- Home Systems Defence (1st Deputy)
- High Command & Staff College (1st Deputy)
- Construction (2nd Deputy)
- Training (2nd Deputy)
- Fleet Support (2nd Deputy)
First Deputy Second Space Lord
Like the 2SL the First Deputy also has a Naval Secretary at the rank of Commander. His ADC is a Lt Commander and there is often an assistant ADC who will be a well connected Lieutenant or Second Lieutenant.
Home Systems Defence
There is a Rear Admiral in overall charge of co-ordinating Home Systems Defence based in Sol. In each of the other Home Systems there is a Flag Captain in charge of the Interplanetary Defence Squadron. In the event that the Sol system itself was attacked the First Deputy Second Space Lord would be expected to assume overall command of all operational forces present in system unless otherwise directed by the Admiralty Board.
High Command & Staff College
The Principal of the College is a Vice-Admiral post, however there are a large number of tutors and speakers from all grades drawn into teaching at the college, including a number of retired senior Admirals (with several Grand Admirals among them).
Admiralty
The key organisation which provides the link between the MOD and the Imperial Earth Navy is the politically powerful Admiralty. Although there have been no significant disputes in recent years, there is a constant tension between the elected Ministers and the powerful Admiralty chiefs.
Commander in Chief
Grand Admiral Ma Huan has recently (T73) taken over as Head of the Admiralty, previously he was the First Space Lord.
First Space Lord - Operational Fleets
First Space Lord, is currently vacant (5*) has administrative command of all Interstellar Fleets.
- First Deputy has administrative control of the six Battle Fleets.
- Second Deputy has administrative control of the eight Colonial Fleets.
Second Space Lord - Logistics & Home Defence
Second Space Lord, Admiral Sir George Tryon (5*) has administrative command of the Interplanetary Defence Squadrons, and the Interstellar Support Commands. Admiral Tryon took over in early 3208 (T73) and was previously the Director INI, before that he was the Commander CHF in Q7 and IEN CINC Q7.
- First Deputy has administrative command of all the Home System Defence Squadrons (excluding the Pacifiers).
- Second Deputy has administrative command of all Construction, Training and the Support Fleets.
Earther Marine Corps - Marines & Pilots
The Commandant General of Marines General Sir Roger Hammerstein (3*) has administrative command of all Marines, Assault Landing Ships (ALSI), and Pacifiers.
- First Deputy has administrative control of all Shipboard Marines.
- Second Deputy has administrative control of all Independent Marine Regiments, all ALSI and all Pacifiers. [Note: INI has operational control of one IMR in each Quadrant].
Planning & Liaison
The Director of Plans and Liaison, Vice-Admiral Feng Shui (3*) controls all Naval planning, cooperation and foreign liaison. Admiral Shui has been in post for some time (over four years) and is due to be posted in the near future.
Naval Intelligence
The Director of Imperial Naval Intelligence, currently vacant, controls Imperial Naval Intelligence. [Note: INI has operational control of the DSF, and one IMR in each Quadrant].
T74 - Foreign Office - Bright Future for Independent Colonies
The Foreign Ministry is asking for volunteers to lead a new Imperial colonisation effort aimed at putting the brightest and best at the forefront of new colonies.
Square pegs for Square holes
The FM and later the Bureau of Relocation (BuReloc) will be looking for square pegs to fill square holes in existing independent colonies. The FM is not necessarily looking for numbers but for suitable high quality individuals who can not only “make a difference” to a new colony, but also to help its government develop building on the lessons learnt in other colonies. These volunteers will receive extra special treatment, special direct flights (in the case of at least two Quadrants), and will retain beneficial contacts with the nearest Consular offices to ensure that the colonies are successful.
Specific additional efforts will be exercised in Q3 and Q8 with 6 x C5A dedicated in each Quadrant to assisting the moves of the special volunteers. In Q3 the C5A will provide support to colonists supporting improvements in Akdor and Jakobs. In Q8 the C5A will support to colonists supporting improvements in Iron Mike and Spike. All four BA worlds will be receiving maximum level investment (16 SV each) from Earth and the focus of intense diplomatic efforts.

T74 - President Potato visits Earth

President Potato of the Greater Federation of Asteel was today met by the First Minister in Earth Orbit. The president arrived in his star yacht escorted by the gold plated vessels of the Imperial Guard Squadron.
Flying First Minister
The First Minister himself flew one of the pacifiers in the Squadron that met President Potato's yacht just as it docked. He said on landing that it reminded him of his youthful days flying Pacifiers in the Imperial Flight.
There is a full itinerary of visits to Earth for President Potato including discussions over the Amoss Crisis, renewal of the Treaty of Old London and the Strategic Starship Arms Limitation Treaties. The President is also expected to meet with the First Citizen at a barbecue before beginning a tour of the Solar system.

3208.256/7 - Discussions between FM & POGFA. Based in FM reservation in West Africa (a private residence in the nature reserve park). POGFA to be enrolled as a Chief in the Asante nation and given a ceremonial stool.
3208.258 - Sightseeing on Earth
3208.259 - Visit to Havana for more discussions and local sightseeing.
3208.260 - President Potato's tour of the Solar System to start, accompanied by FM to Old Mars.
