He was born in Warsaw in 1915, studied maths at the University of Warsaw between 1933 and 1936 and then served in the Polish Army for two years as a Lieutenant before the war. He then returned to University to do his doctorate which was interrupted by his recall to duty in 1939 when he fought against the Nazi invasion. A reasonably high class club aimed at officers and senior officials (and anyone else with money to spare) looking for a good time. The clientele is fairly diverse in terms that there are Brits, French, US and Germans. There is even the ocasional Soviet officer seen (although usually not in uniform).
